COBIT 5 Certified Assessors are highly competent IT and business professionals who have been trained in performing COBIT-based IT process assessments and have experience in planning, building, running and/or monitoring IT processes.  COBIT 5 Certified Assessors are able to provide reliable, consistent and repeatable assessments of IT process capabilities—which helps IT leaders gain C-level and board member buy-in for change and improvement initiatives.

Take your skills and professional opportunities farther:  


  • Score a passing grade on the COBIT 5 Foundation and Assessor exams
  • Five (5) or more years work experience performing process based activities
  • Submission of the COBIT 5 Certified Assessor application
    1. The application must contain work experience gained within the 10-year period preceding the application date
    2. Applications must be submitted no later than one (1) year from the date of initially passing the COBIT Assessor exam
  • Payment of the US $100 application fee
  • Agree to abide by the ISACA code of Professional Ethics

Once you have submitted the required documents and fee, ISACA will review your application to confirm all the necessary requirements have been met for COBIT Certified Assessor designation.

If your application is approved
A certificate will be mailed to you indicating your COBIT Certified Assessor designation. You will also receive an email informing you of your approval.

Your COBIT Certified Assessor status will be good for a two-year period after which you must reapply. Performance of a minimum of two assessments during this two-year period will be required.

If your application is not approved
Depending on the reasons for not qualifying, you may be required to retake the course and exam or obtain additional experience before reapplying.
